Choosing the right picture frame can make all the difference to how your artwork or photograph looks on display. At Concept Framing in Belfast and Lisburn, our expert team helps customers choose the perfect frame every day. Here are our top tips for selecting a picture frame that enhances your piece.
1. Consider the Style of Your Artwork
The frame style should complement, not compete with, your artwork. Traditional oil paintings often suit ornate gilded frames, while modern prints and photography look great in simple, clean-lined frames. For a classic look in your Belfast home, consider wooden frames in natural or painted finishes.
2. Choose the Right Colour and Finish
Frame colour should either harmonise or create a deliberate contrast with your artwork. Neutral tones like white, black, and grey are versatile choices that work in most interiors. If your piece features warm tones, a gold or warm wood frame can draw those colours out beautifully.
3. Don’t Forget the Mount
A mount (or mat) provides a visual border between your artwork and the frame. It adds depth, creates space around the piece, and enhances the overall presentation. At Concept Framing, we offer a wide range of mount colours and can cut mounts to any size you need.
4. Think About the Room
Consider where the frame will hang. Rustic or distressed frames suit country-style rooms, while sleek metal or minimal frames suit contemporary spaces. Our team at Concept Framing can help you find a frame that ties your room together perfectly.
